About Us

Vimukthi Vidya Samsthe

Our work is crucial for breaking poverty cycles, empowering marginalized groups, and ensuring children's rights.

We are a non-profit organization, established in 1992. With these successfully released and rehabilitated about ten thousand child laborers, about 8 thousand marginalized women were formed into Self Help Groups ( belonging to Dalit, minority, and tribal communities) mobilized more than 50 Million rupees from banks and government for the overall development of these Self Help Groups, completed de-siltation of 30 village tanks with the support of World Bank, through the government of Karnataka (strictly following Project monitoring, evaluation, reflection and learning (PMERL) method) promoted thousands of children forums in government schools, lead state, and national level alliance and network bodies like Campaign Against Child labor.

Building capacities of rural poor especially women and children by promoting and strengthening self-reliant and sustainable institutions to enable them to lead the process of development for a better quality of life.



Programs

Self Help Groups

About 500 Women Self Help Groups have been promoted in Chitradurga, Davangere, Koppal, and Kalburgi districts of Karnataka state, consisting of more than 8000 working-class women. Members have done savings of Rs.50 Million and have mobilized loans, grants, subsidy loans from Government and financial institutions, and have engaged in various economic development activities Apart from the savings women have engaged in addressing family, community, and Social issues.

Children Empowerment Program

Under our Children empowerment program, about twenty thousand child laborers, school dropouts, children at risk have been rescued, rehabilitated, and re-enrolled in mainstream schools, with the support and active participation of the parents, local groups, community, NGOs, government, and other institutions.
